Billions of animals lose their lives every year due to direct or indirect harm caused by food manufacturing, such as slaughtering, overfishing of marine organisms, or destruction of habitats. In 2021, the global beef cattle stock will reach 996 million, and the annual consumption will reach 230 million, a number that is still increasing.
Greenhouse gases are the overwhelming cause of global warming, of which methane account for 34% of the overall emission. Due to methane's unique characteristics, in a 20 year timeframe, the heat captured by per unit methane will be 80 times that of carbon dioxide, and the annual methane emission of a single cow is as high as 110.7kg.
Founded in August 2021, Jimi Biotechnology is committed to the development of cultivated meat products, with a focus on beef. Our process: Without harming animals, Jimi isolates cells from animals and then establishes immortalized cell lines. The cells are grown in our own culture media and scaled-up in bioreactors. That will finally produce meat that’s both clean and delicious.
